Do you talk during hypnotherapy?
After the initial consultation, many have asked how often (if at all) they speak during a hypnotic session. This is a great question, and the answer may vary.
Your Hypnotist should tell you in advance what to expect. Some may not require any verbal communication, others will combine verbal and non-verbal communication, and others simply will simply do all the talking.
My clients will always communicate with me during a session (the amount of verbal communication varies on the session). In the session where regression is active, there will be more verbal communication than on other days. Some may say that if the client speaks during a session the hypnotic state is lessened. I tend to disagree. All my clients are placed in a deep trance state from the beginning.
What is normally asked of a client during a hypnotic session?
For non-regression days I typically ask the client to verify a given task (for ex. opening or selecting a door in their mind’s eye). They simply replay by saying “ready.”
Regression days are a lot more detailed. Where I would search for specific details from the client about a specific scene/instance (looking for the root cause).
I would normally ask general questions first and then slowly begin to dig further down until the client has found the scene where their current behaviour began.
Regression is where a lot comes out and is usually a very emotional day (for both parties).
